Hey. Iv done this with mine but my spur gear is lose just rocks up and down with the spindle I put a bearing in the out side but just seems to grind on it and heat up quick . Any help ?
From your description it sounds like the slipper clutch is loose, the nut wants to be done up until the springs coils meet, then backed of a 1/4 to a 1/2 turn.
